Hand thrown cream and sage green speckled glazed bowl for serving olives or picky bits, this useful bowl has a central container to hold toothpicks or your olive pits, and has a larger outer bowl to hold delicious olives. This single serving olive dish is perfect for people who may not like to share or where olives are not enjoyed by the whole family. Although I have designed this item as an olive bowl I think it would work really well for other snacks. This lovingly handcrafted bowl will compliment any home, I hope you enjoy it.

How it's made
Every piece is thrown by hand by me, in my home studio in Bedfordshire. Each pot is shaped, left to dry to leather-hard, trimmed, and handles pulled and carefully attached as necessary. Once fully dry, each piece is bisque fired to over 1000°C and cooled for around 12 hours, then glazed (with up to 8 brushed-on coats of glaze to build those painterly effects). Finally, the piece undergoes a glaze firing to 1180°C, followed by another 12-hour cool-down. Start to finish, the whole process can take 3 to 6 weeks, a little longer in colder, damper months.

A note on handmade variation
Because each piece is made by hand, you may notice small differences in glaze and size from piece to piece — that's not a flaw, it's the joy of owning something one-of-a-kind.

Caring for your new pottery
This piece is dishwasher and microwave safe for everyday ease, but hand washing will keep the glaze looking its best over the long run — totally your call!
