Handmade Ceramic Folk Design Trinket Dish, Blue & Cream Glaze, Stoneware Pottery

A pretty little dish that earns its place on your table (and probably your dressing table too). This hand-thrown stoneware plate is adorned with a pretty blue folk design and then covered in a shiny clear glaze. This little dish is endlessly useful as a snack or cookie dish or somewhere to keep your jewellery or bits & pieces.

Why you'll love it
This gorgeous little bowl earns its keep however you use it — use it as a small plate to keep biscuit crumbs off the floor, as a fruit plate or a spot to pop your rings and earrings by the sink. How it's made
Every piece is thrown by hand by me, in my home studio in Bedfordshire. Each pot is shaped, left to dry to leather-hard, trimmed, and finished by hand. Once fully dry, it's fired to over 1000°C and cooled for about 24 hours, then glazed — sometimes with up to 8 brushed-on coats to build those painterly effects — before a final firing to 1180°C and another 24-hour cool-down. Start to finish, the whole process takes 3 to 6 weeks, a little longer in colder, damper months.

A note on handmade variation
Because each piece is made by hand, you may notice small differences in glaze and size from bowl to bowl — that's not a flaw, it's the joy of owning something one-of-a-kind.

Caring for your bowl
This little bowl is dishwasher and microwave safe for everyday ease, but hand washing will keep the glaze looking its best over the long run — totally your call!
